Normally, Saturday's are cleaning days around here. All the FlyLady emails I let pile up seem to get checked off one by one on Saturday's. The kids and I got most of it done, minus laundry however...there's always tomorrow. They got their rooms cleaned, did their challenges for the week and I went to work. Usually, I don't work on Saturday's, but we were really busy yesterday and it was looking like today would be no exception. So I went in for a couple of hours. I had planned to go to Wal-Mart and get all the staple items. But in the back of my mind, I was thinking the kids really wanted to see Horton Hears a Who. So I called them, told them to get ready to go and I'd pick them up. They thought we were going to Wal-Mart so imagine their surprise when I passed it up. We really liked the movie. We all agreed our favorite character had a minor part, but Katie was the cutest! We all loved the movie. (Greg was working). Go see it if you get the chance.
Now for the hair in the title. Stephanie has been wanting to get her hair cut for a longggggggggg time now. She's only had it cut one time, ok maybe twice in her almost 9 years. Only this time, she wants to do Locks of Love and get it ALL cut off. Her hair is HER. If you know Stephanie, you know her beautiful golden locks that curl up in ringlets the longer the day goes. You know that when it's really clean it's silky and golden. You know that she always has some doo-dad in it, and it's never in her eyes. It's just a part of her. But when I think of some little girl that has no hair from cancer or lukemia getting Stephanie's hair, how can I tell her no? It will grow back I'm sure. I just can't imagine her without it. She's asked Dad and he's not too in favor of the idea either. Grandpa Kempf doesn't want her to do it. Maybe if she does it now, it will be longer by picture time this fall.
